Christina Campbell, of the PPG industrial coatings plant in Mount Vernon, Illinois, visits students in Charlotte Everett’s third-grade class at New Hope Elementary School in nearby Fairfield to present a $1,000 PPG Foundation check. The grant supports the purchase of 25 science kits with hands-on experiments related to crystal growing, square bubbles, hydropower machines, oil spill containment, climate and weather, and more.

“It’s great to be able to help New Hope Elementary School increase student interest and participation in life and earth sciences through this grant,” Campbell said. “The PPG Foundation helps PPG employees to partner with local schools by supporting projects that focus on science, like this one, as well as on engineering, technology and mathematics. I hope these experiments inspire future science professionals among the New Hope students.”
